Reflecting on this partnership, Struan Morre from ISM expressed excitement, stating, "We're thrilled to witness Olli joining forces with Algarve Pro alongside his exceptional teammates for the 2024 European Le Mans Series. As Olli embarks on his second ELMS season, our support remains unwavering."
"I’m really excited to be joining Algarve Pro Racing for the upcoming season," said Caldwell. "I met and tested with the team some time ago, and it’s nice to be joining them for my second full season in the European Le Mans Series, especially as they’re reigning Champions. The title-winning status means we will go into 2024 on a strong, positive footing."
Reflecting on his confidence in the team's line up, Caldwell added, "I’m confident in our link up because Matthias (Kaiser) did a good, faultless job in this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship, and Alex (Lynn) is a well-established and successful driver who has a lot of experience with factory teams and a fairly long history in endurance racing. I’m still early in my career and I know I can learn a lot from him."
Caldwell's transition from a successful junior career to the demanding realm of endurance racing in 2023 showcased his mettle in a dual campaign across the World Endurance Championship and ELMS. Notably, his rookie ELMS season included a podium debut at Le Castellet and a commendable performance at the prestigious24 Hours of Le Mans. His perseverance and determination set the stage for a compelling 2024 as part of the robust driver line up aboard the #25 Oreca-Gibson LMP2 machine.
Algarve Pro Racing, renowned for their track record of triumphs in the Asian Le Mans Series, a Le Mans LMP2 Pro/Am class victory, and the recent conquest of the ELMS teams' and drivers' championships in 2023, anticipates another spectacular season. Caldwell's enthusiasm about defending the team's championship titles adds to the anticipation surrounding their prospects.
With preparations in full swing, Olli Caldwell diligently prepares for the 2024 season, commencing with rigorous testing in Barcelona on April 9th, poised to defend Algarve Pro's coveted championship titles in the face of a record-breaking LMP2 entry.
