Infinity Sports Management driver Nicolai Kjærgaard rejoins the Garage 59 team, leading the charge in the Endurance Cup in 2022. Taking to the wheel of the #159 McLaren 720S GT3, Nicolai teams up with Manuel Maldonado for the full season campaign in the GT World Challenge Europe championship.
Back with the team with which he has enjoyed previous success, including a brilliant and hard-fought podium finish in the Silver class at the 24 Hours of Spa last season. Nicolai has his sights set on claiming overall Silver Cup title honours when the 2022 season gets underway at Imola in just a few weeks time.
“I’m looking very much forward to the European season. In the Asian Le Mans Series we managed to get a much better grasp of the car and improve throughout the two weekends. The aspiration for our GT World Challenge season is to win the Silver cup and have a great new start with the McLaren.”
Garage 59 Team Principal, Andrew Kirkaldy added:
“I think we have an exciting year ahead with the McLarens and a strong line-up of drivers. I’m pleased to have continuation in the Silver Cup class with Nicolai. All in all, I think we’re looking at a strong season ahead.”
