Infinity Sports Management is pleased to announce Jonny Edgar’s 2024 plans to compete in both the IMSA Endurance and ELMS LMP2 Championships with American and British outfits.
The young British racing driver will take on new challenges in both the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup in the United States and the European Le Mans Series, partnering with distinguished teams, Sean Creech Motorsport (SCM) and TF Sport, respectively.
Born in Whitehaven, Cumbria, 19-year-old Jonny Edgar has proved he’s one to watch, making significant moves in his racing career with titles including the 2020 German ADAC F4 Championship and the 2017 FIA European Karting Championship.
Following his 2023 season in FIA F3, Edgar expressed enthusiasm for his 2024 IMSA Endurance Cup debut in the United States saying, “I'm absolutely delighted to share the news that I will be teaming up with Sean Creech Motorsport for my first taste in the IMSA championship.
“It's always been a dream of mine to compete in the States, and I'm very grateful to Lance Willsey for this opportunity. I cannot wait to get started at the Roar in two weeks."
For the 2024 European Le Mans Series, Jonny will be racing with British outfit, TF Sport. He eagerly anticipates this new challenge, saying, "I'm really excited to be joining such a great team, and I'm looking forward to working with Louis and Robert. Both have won many races in major categories, and I'm looking to learn as much as possible from them.
“This year will present its challenges, with it being a new category and style of racing for me, but I'm confident that TF Sport is the best home in this next step of my career."
Struan Moore, of Infinity Sports Management, commented on Edgar’s performance during the official IMSA test at Daytona: "Jonny did a brilliant job last month in Daytona when he met with all the team at Sean Creech Motorsport for the official IMSA test. He showed what he is capable of, and we're thrilled to announce that he will be driving for SCM and Lance Willsey this season in the endurance rounds."
Regarding Jonny's participation in ELMS, Moore added, "This is a brilliant opportunity for Jonny, and we're delighted he will get his first taste of ELMS with a very experienced team and talented line-up. This will be a learning year for Jonny in LMP2, and we're very much looking forward to seeing how he progresses."
Jonny Edgar’s 2024 season kicks off on January 19th at Daytona International Speedway for the Roar Before The Rolex 24 - a three-day test that serves as “the final dress rehearsal” one week out of his first race on American soil.
During the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup 2024, Edgar - with Sean Creech Motorsport - will visit Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, Indianapolis, and Road Atlanta during their five-round championship contest.
For the European Le Mans Series 2024, Jonny will visit familiar circuits including Imola, Spa-Francorchamps, and Mugello, with Barcelona hosting the season opener on April 14th.
