Infinity Sports Management are delighted to announce that Nicolai has been inducted into the inaugural McLaren Junior Pro Driver Programme.
The brand new programme aims to recognise and help develop the most promising young GT drivers under the tutelage of the team's factory drivers. This proud achievement comes off the back of the Danish driver’s strong rise through the ranks of GT racing in recent years, firming himself as one of the most exciting sportscar talents on the global stage.
Having enjoyed success in his formative years in single-seaters, Nicolai rapidly adapted to the switch to sportscars in 2020 with continued results.
Joining the Garage 59 team for the 2021 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season, the talented Danish racer contested a dual campaign of Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup aboard the McLaren 720S GT3. Where he took to the podium in his first 24 hour event at the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.
Remaining an integral part of the Garage 59 squad in 2022, Nicolai further enjoyed podium success at Valencia, Imola and Barcelona. This year sees Nicolai take the step up to fight for PRO title honours with the team.
Commenting on this latest step in Nicolai’s career Ian Morgan, Director of Motorsport, McLaren Automotive said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Nicolai to the McLaren family. Nicolai is an exciting future prospect and we are really looking forward to seeing how he progresses through 2023.”
Struan Moore - Driver Manager of Infinity Sports Management echoed:
“We’re thrilled to see Nicolai progress into the role of McLaren Junior Pro with such an iconic brand. Nicolai has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting GT3 drivers competing on the world stage and we look forward to seeing him represent the McLaren brand on and off track.”
