Beginning his young racing career in 2015, Douwe Dedecker joined the race school at the infamous karting track at Genk in his native Belgium. Building his experience in club competitions, he moved to GKS team in 2016 where he began competing in the BNL Karting Series and the Belgian Max Challenge, before earning victory in the 2017 BNL Golden Trophy (Micro Max).
Gaining attention in 2018, he certainly made a name for himself on the local and international karting scenes when he made the step up to the Iame X30 Series, where he stormed to victory and was crowned Benelux Champion. Further finishing runner-up in the Rotax Challenge Grand Finals.
2019 saw Douwe rank a mighty 3rd place in the WSK Euro Series (60 Mini) Championship, having enjoyed an overall victory at the Lonato round. Throughout 2020 and 2021, Douwe scored a number of top ten finishes across the FIA CIK European Championship, Champions of the Future and WSK Series respectively.
This year, Douwe looks to continue his form in the OKJ category with Ricky Flynn Motorsport.
